Almost all golf bags are made from lightweight synthetic material and have dividers where your clubs will go, but after that, they can differ quite a bit. Here are the three major categories:

The Stand bag is light weight, somewhere between 3 and 6 pounds, and is made for the golfer who totes his or her own bag around the course. The Stand bag has a shoulder strap for carrying, and has a built in leg or legs which allows the bag to stand while you tee off. You want your Stand bag to weigh no more than 5 pounds if possible.

The Cart bag, as it's name suggest, is designed to fit on your cart, with the pockets on one side so you can put the bag in your cart but still have access to all your gear. These bags usually have legs, but are quite a bit heavier than a Stand bag.

The Staff bag is more professional, and is larger and much heaver than the other two bags. They are often made of leather, with loads of pockets and storage compartments for all your gear.

While the other three bags are for use while you're on the golf course, the primary objective of the Travel Bag is to protect your Golf Clubs when you travel. These bags come in either hard side or soft side depending on your personal needs.

Don't pay too much for your Golf Bag and but don't scimp either. Shop The Golf Caddy first for all your Golf Bags, Clubs, Carts, Balls and Equipment, and you're sure to find your best deal.
